Angela Marongiu is a seasoned higher education professional with over a decade of experience spanning Dutch, American, and Qatari universities. Angela’s passion lies in fostering meaningful connections among students from diverse backgrounds through intercultural programming, inclusive initiatives, and vibrant community-building efforts.
With expertise in managing collaborative partnerships and exchange programs, Angela has supported students from over 60 nationalities, guiding them in successfully navigating academic and co-curricular life. She is the founder of the Iktashif Qatar Program which deepens cultural understanding through immersive excursions, workshops, and bonding activities. As the Student Support Manager Angela currently coordinates the immigration process for international students, ensuring compliance with local regulations and helping them transition smoothly into life in Qatar. She serves as Georgetown University’s housing liaison to Qatar Foundation Housing, advocating for students’ residential needs and fostering a sense of belonging. In her capacity as Chair of the Residential Life Committee, Angela collaborates with student members to enhance the on-campus living experience, making it welcoming and supportive for both prospective and current students. She also advises students preparing for study exchange opportunities at Georgetown’s main campus, working closely with counterparts to ensure seamless transitions.
She holds a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and has proficiency in multiple languages, including Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, and Arabic. Additionally, her time in the Intensive Arabic Program at the American University of Beirut further enriched her cultural understanding and language proficiency.
