A Frequency Lexicon of Standard Arabic Used in Children’s TV Programs
A Corpus-based Lexicon
Mahmoud Al-Ashiri’s book in Arabic, A Frequency Lexicon of Standard Arabic Used in Children’s TV Programs: A Corpus-based Lexicon (Dar Konoz Almarefa Publishers, 2021), offers an invaluable resource for designing and developing impactful curriculums for native Arabic speakers that maximize early learning efforts. Co-authored by Dr. Abdelati Hawwari of George Washington University and Dr. Mohamed Al-Badrashiny of Columbia University, the lexicon offers two volumes and over 900 pages of the most frequently used Arabic words used in cartoons and television shows watched by children aged four to nine years old across the Arab world.
