This book is concerned with the study of poetics; the science that is concerned with those abstract characteristics that make the uniqueness of a literary event, the science that studies the literaryness of texts, or what makes a verbal message an artistic effect. Hence, poetics – like every approach that seeks to be scientific – attempts to discover the universal laws that stand behind the literary phenomenon, behind the literature that generates artistic works.

هذا الكتاب معني بدراسة الشعرية (البويطيقا)؛ ذلك العلم الذي يُعنى بتلك الخصائص المجردة التي تصنع فرادة الحدث الأدبي، العلم الذي يدرس الأدبية في النصوص، أو ما يَجْعَلُ من رسالة لفظية ما أثرًا فنيًاه.
