Dale Menezes is currently working towards his PhD in History. His research interests include the history of commodities and imperial and non-imperial polities in early modern South Asia. Dale’s work examines the role of South Asians in the globalizing world since the 1500s, bridging European and non-European histories. He provides insightful analyses for various media platforms, including India-based news magazines, and critiques Konkani and Portuguese literature. At GU-Q, Dale will teach Modern South Asia, tracing history from the Mughal empire through British imperialism to modern Indian democracy. Dale’s GU-Q faculty mentor is Reza Pirbhai.
