The GU-Q Writer-in-Residence program reflects our commitment to fostering cultural, artistic, and scholarly exchanges within our community. Through this program, we welcome distinguished authors to engage deeply with our students, faculty, staff, and the broader Qatar community, creating unique opportunities for learning and collaboration with some of the world’s foremost literary figures.

We are thrilled to host Kamila Shamsie, an award-winning novelist celebrated for her contributions to contemporary literature, at GU-Q as our inaugural Writer-in-Residence.
