About Dale Menezes
GU-Q Doctoral Fellow Dale Menezes is currently working towards his PhD in History at Georgetown University. His research examining the role of South Asians in the globalizing world since the 1500s, bridges European and non-European histories, with a focus on the history of commodities and imperial and non-imperial polities. He shares his insight on various media platforms, including India-based news magazines, and offers critiques of Konkani and Portuguese literature.

Memories, Archived: Contemporary Views From South Asia, edited by Dale Luis Menezes, Leandré D’Souza, and Susana Bastos Mateus, offers curatorial essays and artist interviews to accompany a Sunaparanta Centre for the Arts exhibition of 16th and 17th Century watercolors produced in Goa. Demonstrating the profound role that local and European agents played in shaping the visual and material culture of the Indian Ocean world, the book provides a powerful framework to explore how archives can be reimagined to engage with questions of identity, power, and representation.
