Palestine Speaker Series: International Law and The New War on Gaza
In the Middle East, international law is often closer to power than to justice. How has the sidelining of international law lead us to this latest calamity?
Michael Lynk is Professor Emeritus of Law, Western University, London, Ontario, Canada. Between 2016 and 2022, he served as the United Nations Special Rapporteur for the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory. In this capacity, he delivered regular reports to the UN Human Rights Council and the UN General Assembly on the state of human rights under the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
