Amr Al Azm
Adjunct Associate Professor
Amr Al Azm is Adjunct Associate Professor at Georgetown University in Qatar. He received his Ph.D. from the University of London in Archeology and has excavated a number of sites, including Tell Hamoukar in Syria, and one site possibly associated with Genghis Khan’s final resting place in Mongolia. He was Director of Scientific and Conservation Laboratories at the General Department of Antiquities and Museums in Syria (1999–2004) and Head of the Centre for Archaeological Research at the University of Damascus (2003–2006). He has published or edited over 20 articles and papers on archeology, social change, heritage, and political risk.
