Danyel Reiche
Visiting Research Fellow
Danyel Reiche is Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for International and Regional Studies at Georgetown University in Qatar. He received his Ph.D. from Leibniz University. His research interests include politics, energy, and sports policy. Previously, Dr. Reiche was Associate Professor of Comparative Politics at the American University of Beirut and Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgetown University’s campus in Washington, D.C. Dr. Reiche led Georgetown University in Qatar’s research initiative on the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with his work appearing in The New York Times, Der Spiegel, The Washington Post, ESPN, and the Economist. Dr. Reiche is the author of Qatar and the 2022 FIFA World Cup: Politics, Controversy, Change (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022), and Success and Failure of Countries at the Olympic Games (Routledge, 2016).
