GU-Q has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Academic Bridge Program (ABP), a Qatar Foundation initiative that prepares students to make the transition from high school to college.

The agreement initiates collaboration on the design and implementation of a year-long Georgetown Admission Pathway Program (GAPP) for qualified ABP students and was signed between the Dean of GU-Q, Dr. Ahmad Dallal, and the Director of the Academic Bridge Program, Dr. Bryan Lewallen.

The program offers qualified potential participants the opportunity to hone their academic skills, cross-register for selected courses at GU-Q, and engage in programming that is relevant to the Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) degree offered at GU-Q. Participants are also invited to attend lectures, take part in curricular group seminars, and participate in pre-college enrichment opportunities at both ABP and GU-Q.

GU-Q also offers a host of other programs for high school students and recent high school graduates to unlock their potential and prepare them for university life. This includes Planet Georgetown, the Georgetown Pre-College Summerprogram, and the Georgetown Global Challengers. They also offer one-on-one advising and workshops throughout the year.

ABP is a rigorous two-semester general studies program focusing on English, mathematics, science, and computer skills. Since its launch in 2001, ABP has graduated more than 3,000 students, most of whom have gone on to study at universities in Qatar or abroad.
