GU-Q Rolls out the Red Carpet to Welcome Graduates to the Neighborhood
Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) recently hosted its “Welcome to the Neighborhood” alumni event, an annual tradition that brings together recent graduates and established alumni within the Gulf region.
Held in the auditorium lobby, the event served as the official introduction of recent graduates to the warm and welcoming GU-Q alumni community.
Dean Safwan Masri was in attendance to meet alumni, as well as special guest Dr. Robert Groves, the Provost of Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Brendan Hill, Senior Associate Dean for Students, provided introductory remarks before the alumni had the opportunity to network with current faculty, and staff.
Associate Director for Student Development Afsha Kohli said: “The ‘Welcome to the Neighborhood’ event is a special gathering for our alumni. It marks the start of a new chapter for recent graduates and strengthens the lasting sense of community that characterizes Georgetown University. It’s genuinely heartwarming to see the connections and friendships that persist among our alumni.”
