David Emmanuel Gray

As the ongoing crisis continues to transform the world, Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) announces open registration for a professional training course that provides the high-impact skills companies and organizations will need to adapt and succeed in an evolving workplace. The course, titled “Negotiation and Persuasion,” will be delivered online from June 21 through June 24, 2020, from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

In this expert-designed Executive Education Certificate course, participants will learn the fundamentals of negotiation, while developing interpersonal techniques and tactics for effectively influencing people, especially in difficult situations involving strong emotions. Utilizing the latest research in negotiation, and conflict resolution, this course will expand participants’ abilities to more productively approach interpersonal interactions that may cause anxiety or discomfort.

Rodolph Boughaba, Associate Dean for Executive Education, emphasized the impact of GU-Q’s highly specialized seminars, saying: “As a QF partner institution, Georgetown is committed to supporting the goals of Qatar’s national vision, and that includes training opportunities that meet the needs of Qatar’s busy professionals. And now more than ever, training is a great way to remain competitive and relevant in a post-coronavirus reality.”

Taught by David Emmanuel Gray, Ph.D., an Adjunct Assistant Professor at GU-Q, the course also offers simulations and exercises to give participants hands-on training that combines theory and practice to boost confidence, control, and influence over others. Dr. Gray, who received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, brings with him ten years of experience teaching professional education courses on negotiation and conflict resolution in Qatar, and specializes in ethical theory, political philosophy, and decision theory.
