Roundtable Discussion with Leading Turkish Think Tank Highlights Shared Research Interests
A delegation from one of Turkey’s leading think tanks, the Centre for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies (EDAM), was recently on a campus visit to learn about GU-Q’s role in regional higher education and research. The group met with Dean Dallal and members of faculty for a roundtable discussion on the possibility of future collaboration and sharing expertise on mutual areas of interest, including foreign policy and security and cyber policy. Faculty participants at the discussion included Dr. Reza Pirbhai, Dr. Anatol Lieven, Dr. Mehran Kamrava, and Dr. Gerd Nonneman. The delegation was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar with the aim of exploring more sustainable long-term collaboration opportunities in the fields of research between the two countries. EDAM, which is based in Istanbul, contributes to the policy making process in Turkey by carrying out and disseminating in- depth policy research and analysis, producing tailored recommendations and engaging public opinion.
