Take part in Qatar Sustainability Week @ GU-Q
No Parking Trial (Employees Only)
Sunday 5th November to Wednesday 8th November 2023
Get rewarded for not parking on Campus from Sunday, 5th to Wednesday, 8th November 2023.
For each day you do not park on site you can collect a voucher from security for O Street, Tim Horton’s or Casual Coffee for QAR30 a day.
- Take the Metro/tram
- Walk
- Cycle
- Car pool
- Get dropped of/take a taxi
- Park in Oxygen Park and take the tram

Pick up your free plantable 2024 desk calendar from the Bookstore and start your garden.
Recycled Tissue Boxes and Printing Paper
The Facilities Management team is pleased to launch our new tissue boxes, which are made of 100% recycled cardboard. Look out for the new design!
Recycled paper will also be introduced in the network printers from November 5. Trays 1, 2, and 3 will all be set up with recycled paper, while Tray 4 will continue to be filled with regular paper in case any departments need it for more formal or official documents.
E Car Charging Stations
We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Porsche to introduce two e car charging points. 3 spaces in the underground car park, close to the entrance, will be designated for Electric cars from November 5.
Any student with an E car will be able to park on site from November 5. The E Car Charging spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Composting
Join us at the Brown Wall in the Atrium on Sunday, November 5 at 1pm to learn about a new QF Initiative rolling out at GU-Q: Sustainable composting solution for organic waste! Compost bins will be available for use at GU-Q, producing composted soil, from November 9 onwards.
Meatless Monday
The production of animal meat creates 15% of annual global greenhouse gas emissions, making it the highest carbon footprint of any food. On Monday, November 6, consider going meatless at O Street Cafe and take a step toward a more sustainable future.
United Nations Sustainability Goals
We are excited to have Mohammed Showkath joining us to talk about the United Nations Sustainability Goals and how they are relevant to us.
